Hello there! My name is Gina Cipolla Connor, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, body image concerns, anxiety disorders and trauma. I am interested in working with individuals who have co-morbid diagnoses and have experience working with individuals who struggle with maladaptive coping (self-harm, self-sabotage etc). I incorporate a number of therapeutic techniques including EMDR, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and am committed to the Health at Every Size (HAES) principles. I also utilizes exposure therapy when appropriate. I collaborate with my client’s multidisciplinary team members such as psychiatrists, medical doctors and dieticians for continuity of care.
I believe through understanding and awareness, clients can move toward becoming their true selves and deeply experience a life worth living. I am a non-judgmental, relational therapist, who truly cares about the rapport with my clients while challenging them to push themselves!
I have experience working in partial hospitalization programs, an eating disorder facility, residential program serving those with traumatic brain injuries, and an alternative school prior to my work in private practice. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Suffolk University, studying Psychology and Education and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Simmons College. I strongly believe in the practice of self-care and enjoy running outdoors, listening to podcasts, spending time with my miniature dachshund Wally, and taking walks on the beach.
I am excited to meet you!!
