About Gina

Gina Cipolla is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, body image concerns, anxiety disorders and trauma. She is particularly interested in working with individuals who have co-morbid diagnoses and has experience working with individuals who struggle with maladaptive coping (self-harm, self-sabotage etc). Gina incorporates a number of therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and is committed to the Health at Every Size (HAES) principles. Gina also utilizes exposure therapy with her clients when appropriate. Gina collaborates with her client’s multidisciplinary team members such as psychiatrists, medical doctors and dieticians for continuity of care.

Gina believes through understanding and awareness, clients can move toward becoming their true selves and deeply experience a life worth living. Clients describe Gina as a compassionate and non-judgmental therapist who truly cares about the rapport with her clients while challenging her clients to push themselves.

Gina has experience working in partial hospitalization programs, an eating disorder facility, and alternative schools prior to her work in private practice. Gina earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Suffolk University, studying Psychology and Education and earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Simmons College.
