I specialize in helping people to manage and recover from eating disorders and co-occuring illnesses, along with healing from past or current traumas. My goal is to help you build awareness, reconnect to yourself, and create a life worth living. I will help you heal your relationship with food and your body, as well as support you through difficult life events.

Clinical Intake Assessment (1 hour)- During your first visit, I will work with you to complete a comprehensive assessment of symptoms, psychosocial and medical history, and help you establish therapy goals. I will also help you establish an evidenced-based treatment plan and make appropriate recommendations.

Individual Psychotherapy (50 minutes)-

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • EMDR Trained
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Strengths Based Therapy
  • Exposure Therapy/ERP
  • Mindfulness approaches

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (50-60 minutes)

EMDR uses something called bilateral stimulation to help the brain resume its natural healing process. If our brains do not effectively process disturbing events, the memories can get “stuck” maladaptively in our brains, resulting in overwhelm, anxiety, depression and other various symptoms.

By using bilateral stimulation (eye movements or tapping) while processing the stressful event, the brain’s normal healing process resume and the stress response is resolved.

Workshops and Consultation- I offer trainings for parents, clinicians, mental health clinics and school staff. A parent consultation session will provide ways to support your loved one struggling with an eating disorder, along with help navigating the treatment system to find your loved one the support they need. I also offer consultation and supervision services to social workers and other mental health clinicians. Workshops and presentations include topics on:

  • Understanding Eating Disorders: Targeted for Parents, Teachers and Other Helping Professions
  • Treatment Approaches and Interventions for Eating Disorders
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Interventions to Treat Anxiety Disorders

Group Therapy- Myself and my colleague Jenna Halloran Karl, LICSW are offering a virtual adult anxiety group for ages 18 and up on Wednesdays from 8:00am-9:00am. This is a six-week skills group designed to help those struggling with anxiety, worry and uncertainty. The group utilizes an effective cognitive behavioral therapy approach, mindfulness tools, psychoeducation and peer support. It is designed to help individuals learn about their social and relational difficulties in a setting with others who experience similar struggles. Group fee is $350 for 6 weeks. Join our next group May 2022! Email directly to register.

Telehealth Sessions- Using a HIPPA compliant software, I also offer telehealth sessions using Doxy Me for Massachusetts residents. This service is great if you are looking to maintain therapy while away at college or during lunch break.

Vulnerability is not our weakness, it’s our greatest measure of courage.
